The starting point.

The rental brief called for reversible decorating around the landlord's bed, sofa, coffee table and ceiling fixture. The room needed to support sleeping, eating and reading or writing. The proposals explore textiles, removable covers, rugs, a small desk and shelving; curtain costs and a workable morning-blackout solution remained to be verified.

CONCEPT DIRECTION 01

Warm textiles. A little graphic energy.

Peach bedding and lighter covers shift the room's dominant colors without using a new floor as the starting point. A red-framed chair and patterned rug bring a livelier geometric note to the reading corner.

Proposed peach and red rental concept with warm bedding, cream sofa cover, red reading chair and graphic rug over gray tile.
Concept direction 01 · Proposed design.
  • The large bedding area introduces warmth where the original room was dominated by blue-gray fabric.
  • Cream at the sofa and bed backrest suggests removable textile changes around existing furniture.
  • Red appears at the desk chair and rug, connecting the reading area to the rest of the room.

CONCEPT DIRECTION 02

A quieter way to add warmth.

Honey-colored bedding, a wood desk and bentwood chair explore a softer, quieter direction. Neutral textiles and a textured rug keep the gray floor from setting the entire mood.

Proposed honey and bentwood rental direction with warm bedding, wooden desk and chair, shelving and neutral rug.
Concept direction 02 · Proposed design.
  • Honey bedding gives the room one broad warm area while the remaining textiles stay quieter.
  • Wood at the desk, chair and shelving repeats a related tone across different functions.
  • The rug adds a softer visual surface beside the bed, rather than proposing replacement of the tiled floor.

CONCEPT DIRECTION 03

A richer, collected small room.

Burgundy bedding and an olive sofa cover explore a deeper palette. Wood reading furniture, books and patterned textiles suggest a more layered atmosphere within the same multiuse rental brief.

Concept direction 03 · Proposed design.
  • Burgundy bedding and olive at the seating area introduce two connected, deeper color areas.
  • A patterned rug repeats the warm palette near the bed without changing the gray-tile starting point.
  • Books, a small desk and decorative lighting give the proposed room a more personal reading atmosphere.
