The starting point.
The existing fixed finishes and brown leather sofa were to stay; new ceiling lighting was allowed. The aim was to soften the cool window light, give the long sofa wall a clear composition and bring the furnishings together. Rugs, curtains, artwork, accent seating and smaller movable pieces open up three distinct directions around that brief.

CONCEPT DIRECTION 01
Make the brown sofa part of the color story.
A blue lounge chair and primary-color rug introduce a graphic counterpoint to the brown leather. Slim metal shelving, a round coffee table and an art grouping bring different scales of detail to the long room.

- The geometric rug creates a colorful center while leaving gray tile visible around the seating area.
- Blue repeats at the chair, cushions and rug, so the brown sofa becomes part of a connected palette.
- Sheer curtains soften the tinted window; the ceiling fixture and small table lamp add another layer to the composition.
CONCEPT DIRECTION 02
Let texture do more of the work.
Neutral textiles, a woven wood chair and an oval wood coffee table give the sofa a quieter setting. Blue artwork, curtains and cushions keep the room specific, while a ribbed paper pendant adds a softer shape overhead.

- The large cream rug changes the balance of the reflective floor without proposing new tile.
- Wood, woven seating and soft curtains introduce varied textures around the existing leather color.
- Blue appears at the artwork, cushions and window treatment, connecting separate choices across the room.
CONCEPT DIRECTION 03
Give the room a more personal layer.
A blue rug balances burgundy curtains and warm wood. A floral lounge chair, grouped artwork and open shelving add different patterns and personal display points around the leather sofa, with several lighting shapes to compare.

- Burgundy curtains and cushions repeat a warm accent; the blue rug gives those colors a contrasting base.
- A floral chair and smaller graphic textiles introduce pattern at different scales without replacing every large color area.
- The gallery wall, books and layered lamps bring interest to the long sofa side and the window end of the room.
